interesting old Craftsman saw

friend of mine picked this up at an auction.  anyone know anything about it?  we both have not had any luck researching it.  looks cool though

that's a cool old saw. Looks like it would work with or without power.

Pops used to carve the holiday turkey with that. Well, until mom called his parole officer and turned him in for violating the terms of not to use deadly weapons in the house.

I miss pop. Then again I miss using power tools at the dinner table in the house. It's tough being a somewhat responsible adult or at least giving the impression of being one.

I can't find a reference to it in any of my 50s or 60s catalogs

With the trigger grip, and that round motor housing,  would think that doesn't date much newer than 1928,  very neat, probably take more effort than just sawing the board manually.

My gut vote puts that post WWII due to the plastic handle and the fact that use of plastic was more limited before WWII. Plus, to me that thing says late 40's to mid 50's.

Again, just me guessing.....

looking at the Craftsman logo on the saw and the above picture, I would say no older than 1964.  which fits with the plastic knob, and the style of the casing is very similar to my 1965 version of Craftsman Circular Saw and drill...

I wonder how long that logo style ran... might even be a 70's era saw.
