I think that cover is a little thin to provide adequate protection for a rifle with a scope. I prefer padded or hard cases.

It would only be whilst hunting in the weather. You`d use a far better set up for travel .

That should work out in the field jabber. It would be easy to stuff in your jacket or pack when you take it off.

I snagged a canvas parachute case for my Garand years ago. Not exactly the same but fairly close. Then I sold the Garand because I needed funds.   :-[

But I kept the case. Figured what the heck - it's Vietnam War era, USA made, and will hold a scoped rifle if I ever get one.
