Carpenters use nailers now, whether battery or air.  They use claw hammers some but not nearly as much.
They still have a place though, you can't use a nailer for everything.

Maybe not but I'll bet the faces of most claw hammers on constructions job get rusty. I use a Dewalt romex stapler pretty much exclusively, I haven't pounded 10 staples in the last year .

GENERAL TOOL AND MACHINE DISCUSSION / I finally found one
« Last post by hickory n Steel on April 22, 2024, 02:30:40 PM »
It took me 4 years but I finally found a little wrench I've been looking for.
I saw one in a YouTube video and had to have one, supposedly they're a common item that can often be found for $1 but I just could not find one because I really didn't know what to search.
I've tried many combinations of mini bicycle wrench mini 3 inch screwdriver adjustable wrench and mini advertising adjustable wrench...etc and turned up no information or listings on Ebay
All I ever found was a promo example from an electricians or something .
Recently a Google image search turned up one with a manufacturers name on it and with that I was able to find one on Ebay.

It needed some work, but I was not going to pay $35 for the other much nicer example I found listed.

The hardest part was the careful tweaking to get the jaws to line up right but I got it.

I don't think anyone mentioned the Wiha pocket drivers?
The knurled handle might be big enough to grip, for tiny stuff at least, and the 4mm bits store in the handle.

During the process of rebuilding my main workshop from the fire three years ago. I crammed everything deemed salvageable throughout my other garages. Once I finished the interior of the machine shop. I added this small 15' by 30' area as a place to unload and recommission the paint booth. Where else could I paint all the shelving, benches, machinery, tables, etc. Took two weeks to complete and another few days to fill up. The lean-to design was the easiest to complete, three walls, single sloped ceiling, add doors and it's done. Well sort of.

Basic 2 by 4 walls, 2 by 8 joists construction.

Added a 100 Amp 240 Volt sub-panel along with rough in the outlets and lights. Extended the air lines and natural gas lines. Then installed Paper-backed Fiberglass insulation

Next came the 5/8" Fire rated drywall and taping

Paint interior with the blue wainscoating and epoxy coat floor and adding base cove. Installed outlets and lighting

Added built in shelving on one side..

Built a 4' wide mezzanines on the opposite wall from wood I've scavenged.. There's just enough room to get around my parked Avalanche on all sides...

With a $35.00 solid maple top I built a workbench. You may notice the large atomic clock,, most my garages have one... The tire rack is for my 1914 Cadillac,, 36" by 5" tires

Added garage door and opener...

Installed a through-the-wall ducted furnace A/C unit

Installed gutters and painted exterior

The annex is still in a state of disarray and in the process of organizing

And us old guys who grew up swinging a hammer really appreciate them too. Between the nailers and impact driver, I bet I haven't used the hammer for a hundred nails in the past 5 years.

"Some" is a relative term -- LOL. In your case I think you'd put the SO truck representative to shame.
