Useless masks?
« on: November 14, 2021, 11:39:17 AM »
Even though we have mask mandates here I rarely wear a mask. I do wear one into the doctor office or hospital and to walk through a casino to get to the restaurant. The wife bought a box of black masks at Costco and I thought a black mask would be a nice change from the blue. I opened the box and put one on and ripped it off as it stunk highly of polypropylene. I left the mask sitting out for several hours and checked it again and it still stunk with outgassing fumes.

I called the company in WA and left a message. They quickly called me back to ask some questions. They recommended laying out all 75 masks until they don't smell anymore. I told them to shove it and they are going back to Costco.

The following is a statement on the box of masks the wife bought:
These masks are not personal protective equipment and are not intended as replacements or substitutes for personal protective equipment.
These products are not intended for medical use or to prevent any disease or illness.
Each mask is intended for single use only-discard immediately after use.

So why are we mandated to wear these for protection when they don't provide any? It's all about control and submission.

That is to protect the manufacturer from scum sucking bottom dwellers unscrupulous lawyers. They probably do provide some protection, they just can't claim it for liability reasons.

Masks are generally not designed to protect the wearer but to protect anyone they come into contact with if the wearer has undiagnosed Covid.

Please explain to me how a mask saturated with Covid protects other people. Does the mask stop transmission?

The mask was never about stopping anything other than a flying bogger if someone sneezes. The only mask that would actually do any good would be a sealed respirator that covers the nose and mouth with carbon filters.  The mask is a virtue signal, it tells the world if you are scarred of a micro organism that is smaller than the pours of the fabric of the mask you are wearing.

In 10 years the people lining up to join class action lawsuits due to lungs full of fibers from wearing these shitty little cheap masks will be miles long.

I have never once worn a mask.

I wear a handkerchief / bandanna across my face.

And just to annoy any potential liberals, that bandanna happens to have the stars n bars on it. Really I just have had it for a very long time and like it, but  it does bring me joy to know that any liberal who notices will probably be upset.
Always lookin' to learn

To me, the purpose of the mask is to slow down the covid droplets as they exit your body so they don't travel as far.  With that and social distancing, you are afforded some protection.  I liken it to being forced to play Russian roulette with 3 rounds in the revolver.  with mask and social distancing, you get to take one round out.  Your odds are better but not perfect.

Because of the mask, social distancing and of course not being around as many people, cold and flu numbers were way down last year which tells me that they are working.

I don't wear a mask unless forced to now by a customer's rules or going into the doctor's office as I feel comfortable with my vaccine.  I certainly did wear it early on and was glad to have it.
