Title: Black & decker drill
Post by: john k on March 17, 2019, 12:32:49 AM
Helped a friend move his household stuff.  Was shoving stuff into my Jeep, when he walks up with a heavy and big old drill.  A 5/8?   See these once in awhile.   Nope, a 3/4, probably 1940s.   Told me to hang onto it til he needs it again.    Can't  imagine running this thing single handedly.  these things are noted for spinning the user around in circles.  Anybody else have a 3/4 in.  drill>?

My Granddad had one.  I think it only turned +/_ 500 rpms.  It had a 12" piece of steel pipe screwed into the top as an aux handle.  Even with it, it would twist your arms if a bit stuck or if you hit a rock or steel while drilling concrete (pre hammer drills).  Wish I knew what happened to it.
