Would love to be there for this conversation. That's Carroll Shelby on the left for those not in the know...

I think that's a Shelby Mustang Ford Tri-Power intake -- rare as hen's teeth and super expensive if you find one. Steve was probably talking to him about a certain Highland Green Mustang that he was going to drive in a new movie project -- LOL

Broken parts

That first pic is one of the main reasons rail dragsters went to mid engine. Too many drivers went face first into flying engine parts. Sitting directly over an exploding rear end probably wasn't much fun either.
People who confuse etymology and entomology bug me in ways I can’t put into words.

This was the last day for front engine rails....

When I was a kid I idolized him. Never seen that particular picture before but he lost part of his foot in that one.

There's this old style hardware store on the other side of town (actually trying to get a job there!) and over the front door they have this huge display of vintage tools. They were kind enough to let me take some photo's. So, it's not a vintage pic per se, but the tools are.

And I already asked - none of it is for sale, only display purposes.

Big Daddy was the man in drag racing.

Saw him and Shirley Muldowney at Chryslers at Carlisle about 10 years ago.  They were at a table signing autographs.  Sadly, not many folks were paying attention to them

His museum in Florida is worth seeing, it is just off the interstate at the Bellview exit.

They were a big deal in our generation Phil. Today's youth doesn't know about Big Daddy or Shirley in Top Fuel, nor the Snake and the Mongoose in Funny Cars -- SAD!!!
