Lets talk about wrenches
« on: August 05, 2018, 04:11:07 PM »
This is the largest S wrench I have come across.  It is an Armstrong and has the arm and hammer trademark.  Size is 1 1/4 and 1 7/16 inches.

I wouldn't be able to pass on grabbing a nice wrench like that whether I needed it or not.

Here is a Wright 10 point socket set.  Yes, it only has 8 points, but if you add 4 and 6 you get 10.  Sounds like something that came out of Washington.

I agree. Did anyone else ever sell something like this. I've never seen this design before.

I dont think so BuckHenry. I could be wrong but I seem to remember there being a patent for those sockets.

They were patented by Wright and appear in the 1957 catalog:  https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=7171337&postcount=57

I have a similar set (made by Wright) that is marked Powr Kraft which was Montgomery Wards.  Unfortunately it is missing two sockets and I have no hope of finding them.

I have a very old 8pt Blackhawk set I added to my box years ago as users. I don't need them much but I am always pleased to have them when I do use them, generally once or twice a year at the very most.
You boys better hold on cause I'm gonna have to stand on it!
