Got these for Christmas.

Dremel 3000. My first Dremel, sure I'll be able to find a ton of uses for it.

Also a Railroad builders tool set. Nice assortment of tools used for building model railroads. Nice tools and box, but the plastic trays leave much to be desired. They don't hold the tools the greatest, and the trays themselves don't stay in the box.

Gonna have to find some foam to cut out and place the tools in.

Congrats,  the pliers in that set look really nice.

I can't believe you've never had a dremel before, I'm currently on my 5th and can't imagine not having one.

I've had my dremel 4000 for about 8 years at this point, and it has been great because it has a speed control that is seperate from the power switch.
All the others I've had let out the ghost on me, the NOS 70's dremels I've had lasted longer than any other modern ones but this 4000 should have died on me at this point.

Take the thin plastic tool holder out and spray the back side with foam, will make it rigid and last a long time.  Have 3 Dremels, and a look alike or 2, they get used  often, even in the shop.

I've seen that work with snap on trays. But usually those tools lay in the tray. This is more of a friction fit with the tools. Not sure itll solve the problem of the tools themselves falling out?

They sell the tools separately from a full on kit.

Btw, do you have the keyless chuck for yours ?
I got one years ago for mine and never looked back.

Here you go, these things are great made in Germany ( at least mime way ) and very affordable.

Apparently there are $3 Chinese knockoffs, but the real deal is so affordable I wouldn't bother

Somebody had to know this was coming  >:D

I took the one straight bar that I had left stock, pulled the handle, shortened the shank and replaced it with the handle off one of the Channellock rebranded Mayhew picks( for $20, yes I have already ordered a replacement set of Channellock picks ).

Coincidentally I discovered that it's actually easier to put the desired bend in the straight one than to reduce the bend in the angled one, but I also determined that the factory angle is actually fine.

I just got this Ryobi 8" chainsaw for my birthday.
I don't know how good it is, but I'm sure it'll trim small branches just fine.

I also got this tray table for my US general cart.

I payed no attention to the packaging and didn't notice it was for the smaller 4 drawer cart till I was ready to mount it, so I just rolled with it and drilled a couple holes.

I just needed a couple washers.

The can holding tray, and magnetic accessory tray were moved to the other side and the power strip I just stuck to the can tray.

For now I left the handle off, but may put it back on in the future.

Do your Dremels just need brushes? They offer replacement brushes for the motors.

Also I've sent an email to Dremel. I'm curious as well as why you can't just buy the bare tool.

Here's what I sent to Dremel

"I have had my Dremels for years. Last weekend, my Dremel gave up. After looking on your website it seems as if I can't buy just the bar tools since I have all the accessories already? Do you offer the rotary tools alone?

Thanks"

Here is the response I got....

"Thank you for your recent contact.

We do offer a tool for tool trade in through our Service Center.  You would send in your current tool. However, you receive a reconditioned tool with a one year warranty for around the same cost of a new tool once you include shipping costs.

What model tool do you currently have?

Best Regards"
