Hand crank double flex angle drill

(1/1)

bonneyman:
Labelled JOIC, apparently a world war 2 airplane tool for drilling inside wings where space was extremely restricted (and fuel vapors might be present?)

I found a partial one missing the handle, then a couple years later found another complete one - I think it was a Proto, but I can't find the pics. More of a conversation piece really.

bonneyman:
Here it is with the handle scavanged from the other one.

Have one of those.   Marked PROTO,  handle is red, and most of the wheel is polished, maybe chrome?   Can't find a pic of it right now.   If you need it for a tight spot,  you really need it.

Is the red handle of yours hollow? Like to hold spare bits? I'm thinking I saw one and the end cap would unscrew off.

john k:
It is hollow, metal end cap, coarse threads.  Now that I think about it,  the geared wheel is stainless.   No bits in the handle, just some finish nails.
