RUGER 10/22 TAKEDOWN STOCK
« on: February 07, 2019, 08:19:54 PM »
I worked on a guys truck a while back and got paid with a Ruger 10/22 takedown 22 with blued / wood stock 50th year gun. Nothing special , they most likely made a bunch of these. But , I don't really like the cheap wood stock that came with it. I was looking at some really nice custom wood stocks and think I want this one. What do you guys think of this ?

The stock in the picture looks pretty nice.

I just sent the guy an email asking for details. I'm afraid of the cost already.

Have you considered a polymer stock? The Magpul X-22 in grey or OD green looks pretty sharp on a blued gun.

I have looked at the Magpul stocks. I like them. There @ $ 85.00 and up on Ebay right now. I just really like this wood stock. This isn't going to be my bugout backpacker gun. It's going to be my show off / bragin' rights gun.  I may get another one and get a Magpul stock for it. Next one may be stainless.

I emailed the guy converting the stocks. I have to get the full length stock. $ 234.00 on Ebay. He charges $ 100.00 +  $ 15.00 S & H. The bad part is I have to find a 18.5 " blued barrel. The barrel on mine is too short. I'll find one.

You might as well buy the whole gun for $350.

I know the gun shop  selling that gun. That is an option. I could restock this gun and sell it off.

The gun gods were shinning on me today. I went to a gun show today. As I was walking out a guy was going in carrying the barrel I needed. He was there to sell it. He was looking for a CZ 22 mag clip. I just happen to have one in my car I picked up a couple of weeks ago at a gunshow for a friend of mine. So we traded even. I paid $ 20.00 for the clip. I'm one step closer to getting my stock.
