Title: S W ratchet
Post by: john k on December 14, 2019, 08:26:25 PM
Just found this 3/8 drive ratchet, looks like pre 1950.  Some chrome remains,  reverse lever.  Logo is a small S W in a oval.   Followed by 4C50-A-.  The head is oval reminiscent of Proto.  Head held together with 2 large philips screws.  Did a quick look on alloy artifacts, no luck.   I have a large  quanity of tools back to the 20s , and never seen the s w stamp.  Any ideas?   Camera still not talking to the computer.

Could it be Stevens - Walden? GJ had a discussion about a year ago on a wrench marked S-W.

Obviously used by Smith and Wesson back in day to torque on side plate screws

Sorry

Elroy couldn't resist the opportunity

Yup, Stevens-Walden, but a Smith & Wesson .375 "caliber" ratchet would be very  8)....

Add .25 "cal" and .50 BFG ratchets to round out the set.

Yes, round knurled  handle.  Odd to see a brand unknown to me, at my age!
