Hammers find me. This tiny thing begged me to take it home. Somewhere I saw a similar tool, jewelers hammer, maybe. handle shows less wear than the work faces. Head about 5/8 in. Diameter , both sides. Be glad for someone to give a pos. ID.

I believe it is a doming hammer. Nice little hammer I would have found a place in the sheet metal tools drawer for it but likely it was for finer work.

1 flat surface, 1 ball peen shape but shallow.

Possibly a planishing hammer for silver or very thin sheet metal. Same purpose as body hammers, but lighter duty

Either that long handle is purpose-built for the hammer, or I better check the baluster count on the stairs of my old house. :)
