That is an interesting press bolster there. Are those guide pins sticking up to set the die set on? It also looks like it is full of round pins that can be raised or lowered.

It is one of the largest hydraulic presses in the world. The press is basically 2 presses. The pins are on another slide called a cushion box. The top press presses against the bottom with the die in between. The resist allows the metal to be drawn up to 18" with no tears or wrinkles.

Thanks for the explanation George. Some of our punch presses had cushions under the bolster for draw work.
