Rumors of shortages of toilet paper and other items has people panicking. I saw it started in Australia where a newspaper even printed an extra 8 blank pages for people to use as TP.
My sister sent me a message earlier asking if I had bought all the TP at the Costco in Carson City. She said the employees told her that 300 people were lined up waiting for them to open and they ran in and grabbed all the TP. I think we need a wall between Calif and Nevada to keep all the looneys up at Lake Tahoe.

We have a lot of Korean folks living in our area, and they flooded the local COSTCO in huge numbers earlier in the week. I guess it's a cultural thing that stresses preparedness within their Korean communities. I saw many rolling out pallets of TP and water -- why, I don't know. My wife thinks that since many of them are small retail business owners, they may be reselling these items within those closed communities. Whatever the reason, COSTCO, Target, and Walmart are seeing an uptick in profits from this Corona scare.

The paranoia today reminds me of the Y2K scare. People buying up all sorts of stuff because the "world was gonna stop".

I went shopping on Wednesday, and saw alot of the canned meats were sold out. Oh well, I'm a bit of a prepper so I've got a couple weeks worth of stores - no big deal. I did buy a few boxes of Mac N Cheese, but didn't go a hoardin. People are so fickle.

Thankfully I just picked up a jumbo container of TP at BJ's last week. And I bought a bottle of hand santizer about a month ago so I will be fine for a bit

Mrs. Torqueman today said we should get some extra TP to have 'on hand'. Her friend in upstate-NY is sounding the alarm because she cannot even order it on line.

I ordered 2 large packages of 26 count from Amazon. They said about a month. OK, longer than usual, but we'll manage.

Amazon just sent a notice, the TP has shipped and will arrive tomorrow.

Well, the paranoia is reaching the desert!
Wife said she heard about the "pandemic" announcement, and one of her co-workers said the local Cosco was out of toilet paper. She phoned and asked me should she stop on the way home and get some, because we were going to be needing some. (Not hoarding, just it's that time of the month to buy a 12 pack). I told her don't worry - I'll head overt o Walmart and grab some with a few other items we're low on. Pretty sad to report the toilet paper aisle was decimated! Found one 12 pack of some brand I never buy so I grabbed it. People were reaching behind me to grab for a few remaining packs.
Come on folks, hoarding is going to produce problems not solve them! But most people are sheep and just do what the one in front of them is doing.

Worse comes to worst I'll just go to "bun rags". Old dish rags or facial towels get turned into cleaning duties and get tossed in the washer regularly. (I don't suppose they'll be a run on small towels at the thrift stores). I ain't much into the "leaves" thing - especially when the leaves around here are cactus!

I think the real reason is that NY banned plastic bags and the trees they grow for TP is now used to make paper bags. Maybe we need to start using the left over plastic bags instead of TP.

Goes back the the store wants a refund, owner tells him to take a long walk off a short pier I just love reading stuff like that here is a T shirt that store owner needed

So , I've been buying TP when ever I see it . My girlfriend has not. Now , she is out and trying to dip into my stash. While driving to the store I saw a dog scooting it's but on the lawn and said to her she better learn how to do that as she has no TP. The foul words shes yelled at me would make a rough sailor blush. Guess who is on a quest to find TP now ?
