Support your fav restaurants

Go get some take away and encourage your mates to do the same. Gotta help them stay afloat.
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

We are doing that. Last Friday and tonight we got takeout from our favorite chef at his place. Tonight was jalapeno garlic panko crusted prawns, Reuben sandwiches, salad with 3 extra 8oz containers of the best salad dressing in the world and tongue stew. The quart container of stew was packed with the best tasting chunks of tongue. With most everything shut down here in NV we might as well spend our money on great food. :great:

Loaded up on pasta Wednesday. picked up two plates. ate one ,froze one for later. grabbed some TexMex for lunch today.

The taco shops have never closed, they cant afford to. they wont see any of the stimulus$$. So breakfast is safe.

Friday was a bad day, The Vietnamese dude who runs the donut shop wasn't open... WTH no donuts...

Buy local guys and tip the help, they're struggling to make it.

I really think the Chinese places are being hit hardest. Of my two favorite places one has closed completely from what I can tell.
The Indian place we like can do carry-out but it doesn't work for us considering where we are in town.

The freaking Dutch Brothers coffee shops is doing a bang-up business!

DB does business like that regardless of the situation. It's normal to drive by one of the stands at 9PM on a regular Tuesday night, and there be a line of 6 cars waiting. It's liquid heroin for many people.

Shoot no kidding!

When a new one was under construction about a mile from me I thought it'd be a bust with all the other DB's around, Starbucks, and specialty coffee shops everywhere. Boy was I eating a ton of crow after it opened! :a102:

I went to white castle the other day, one of the longest waits I have ever had!

All joking aside I think the local independent owner operator dine in restaurants will be hit hardest from this. Go out and buy a cheese burger from your neighbors!!!

We stopped at a Crystal in No Alabama once. That was enough for us. A Maid-Rite in Iowa sounds good about now. :s_good:

VA Governor shut down restaurants today, and only allowed carry-out services to continue.

Got take-out from our favorite restaurant again tonight. They were busy which was great to see. We got Ortega bacon cheeseburgers with fries and salad and a large box of salad along with a quart of fantastic clam chowder. One guy ahead of me was picking up 9 dinners and another had ribeyes, escargot and tongue stew. They are running some great specials for first responders, health care workers and seniors at $5 a meal but I didn't feel like the offering tonight.

Got takeout from our favorite restaurant/chef tonight. The fresh Halibut with chive mashed potatoes in a very nice Chablis mustard mushroom caper sauce was out of this world. Also got a quart of mighty fine clam chowder and salad and fresh bread. Not a cheap meal but I haven't had fresh fish in about a month so it hit the spot.

Yeah -- we call in take-out service about twice a week. Many of our favorite places have implemented limited menus, but their kitchens are open and business is good on the take-out options.
