New Arrival in September
« on: April 02, 2020, 08:55:40 PM »
The wife is pregnant and due in early September.  Wasn't planned but we knew it was a possibility and sure enough, the one time we let our guard down and boom!  I'll be fifty later this month, so kiddo is going to be an only child.  I'm going to get snipped at some point as I don't want to become a dad again at 52 or whatever, and we don't want her going through another pregnancy at 42, etc.

That being said, we're excited at becoming first time parents and we're looking forward to having a baby girl!  ;)

Congratulations on soon becoming a father and the loss of all of your free time for the foreseeable future  :))

Its fun and very challenging at the same time, mom will be very frazzled so be patient.

Congratulations.

I am like SKfarmer, I am 49 and my kid is 25. But, my best friend had his first at 46, and mom was 45.(they also only knew each other for about a month...)
He loves it, but says it is very tiring at his age.

Thanks, guys.  Yes, I've heard about the energy it will take and the sleep I'm going to lose.  Already have issues in those areas.  :(

Side note, my dad turned 49 two weeks before I was born.  Difference being, at that point he had four kids eleven and under.  So I think we can manage.  I told my wife now we can put all our child raising theories to the test!  Ha ha!

Congratulations on the new family member and best wishes for the whole family. Have you picked a name yet - maybe Lookin4_67FalconSprint? And more importantly have you started a tool collection yet?

No minivans.  She will get a toolbox eventually.  We're going to teach her to be self sufficient.

You may have a lot of toolboxes, but I think MickeyO has had more.  He has flipped most of them.

All of them were moved in a minivan.  Sure its a dork car, but the combination of gas mileage and cargo space is unbeatable.

Hand boxes, I'm sure.  Rollers and top boxes, I don't know.   ;)

By the way, I see he hasn't been on Channel 3 in over a year.  His posts were always entertaining!

 :)) :)) :))

My wife's BFF is so minivan averse she has never even bought an SUV.  She sticks to her sports cars, even though she has eleven year old twin boys.

I do want to get a truck with a back seat eventually to go with our CRV and Focus.

For just one kid no need for a van. I'd go with the CRV. Have heard good things. Our friends have one and like it and hasn't need much more then routine maintenance.
