Got some new roll pin punches
« on: April 10, 2020, 04:16:18 PM »
I just got this 6pc set of WILDE roll pin punches in from HJE, and first impressions are great I've tested them a bit and the steel quality is definitely better than my dasco punches.
The tips are fine on those but the striking ends are way too soft.

Now I did notice that the size and branding and such are etched while the warning is stamped in which is really not a problem at all, but it did have me curious as to whether Wilde manufactures these themselves or sources them from another American manufacturer?

Any clue if they manufacture these in house or not ?

I've used the roll pin punches a few times and they really work to keep the punch on the pin. I think you'll enjoy using those.

I have already used them and they definitely work very well, I will never use a regular punch on a roll pin again if I can help it.
The pins also come out much easier when using a roll pin punch as well.
The textured forged surface provides a good grip as well, something your wouldn't get if they had polished them and such.
