My burglar alarm used to be a 65lb pitbull, but she doesn't hear much anymore.
She would never have been much help if they did enter the house, but she has a pretty good bark when she wants to use it.

I got a neighbor that likes to get drunked up and blast conjunto tunes all night. Would love to wake him up with that at 0530 the next morning.

Reminds me of the Hemi powered air raid siren, I saw at the Chrysler Museum in Auburn Hills, MI. I think the picture below may be the same one.

I helped install a unit kinda like that one time. Surprisingly quiet when you standing next to the pole they are mounted on.

We have one here at the old Fire Headquarters that goes off everyday at noon and 6pm. We can hear it fine from 7 miles away here. A friend rents a house directly across  the street from the siren and it is loud there.
