Man those 1/8" drive sets are so cool, I don't exactly know the purpose but they're cool.
If I ever find one on eBay cheap ( in my dreams ) I'll swipe it up.

As far as I'm concerned the 1/8" drive set is useless. My set is eye candy. They made a socket rail for these.  That's what I'm looking for.

I have one of those micro sets you can buy on Amazon, it has a 2.5 mm socket (just over 3/32")  I actually used that socket to fix some frameless glasses.

Now am I mistaken or don't they only offer 4 sockets in 1/8 drive ?
I've only ever seen the 5pc set with a handle and 4 sockets, never any kind d of other sockets or extensions...ect

Yeah. Four sockets and a driver in a plastic tray.

And they made a rail for these when this is all they offered ?
I can't believe they want $182 for the set and $52 for just the drive handle, that's a lot of money for a handle and 4 small sockets.

I think the socket rail was offered in the early 1970's.  Don't quote me on this. I've only seen a pic of one on the net.

That's a possibility.
They were making lots of cool interesting stuff back in the day that I can't even begin to know about.

The little kra149 and xpl 996-4 boxes are as deep as I dive into looking for desirable vintage SNAP-ON anything, I don't need to set my sights on anything else when finding one of those two boxes at a price I can swing is hard enough so I've tried to ignore stuff as best as I can  :)

I got my 1/8" drive set in a trade.  There's no way I would spend that much for something so useless.

The most useless socket I’ve seen was a 1/8” 1/2”drive impact socket no name.

Must just be with regards to mechanic work, because I use SAE much more than metric. ;)

I’m not home at the moment, but I have a Britool BA sizes set, which I’m pretty sure goes down to at least 09 BA which on checking a chart on the internet measures 0.131 inches. I’ll check when I’m home whether it has the the 10 BA socket = 0.117 inches

I'm not rightly sure I understand what you're talking about but that sounds pretty small.

Is that sockets or nut drivers ?

The kit was sitting in my desk at work, I didn't remember.  I looked at it today.  I guess it's not a socket per se, as it's driven by the standard 1/8 hex.

I figured that was likely the case.
Those tiny nut driver bits do look handy, if I had a need for them.

Like all tools, you never know if you need them until you do.  Fortunately at that size, high quality/strength is not an issue.
