Drove home friday night, no problem. Got up Saturday morning went to move truck over to shop, sounded like engine was blowing up:) wtf, tried again, realized it was heater fan. Pain in the ass getting a huge plastic cover off under dash, easy to get fan out once cover removed. One night and this is what I find

I covered the fresh air intakes under the cowl on our van with ratwire for that very reason.

Damn rodents will get you every time. I don't mind squirrels around the property, but mice and chipmunks nesting close to the house are considered enemy combatants. I just recently used an electronic trap to get rid of a nest of "munks" that were overrunning the property and jumping up onto the bottom vehicle chassis.

Goodfellow please post the name of that trap. Chipmunks are attempting to take over here and I can’t find a poison that works.

Works very well. I bait it with some walnut kernels, and they go for it like crack cocaine. Just set it up close to a wall or fence where you see activity (or right next to the entrance of their burrow). Only drawback is that it needs to be taken down when it rains.

Was in Omaha today.  Stopped in the Cabellas store to use my card points for some new boots.  Boots they have, guns, not so much.  Normally there are 14 racks of used long guns, 8 to 10 pieces per rack.  Today,  4 racks,  4 rifles, the rest shotguns, with many old single shots,  which included a 10 gauge.   In the gun room, same thing.   Cases  less than half full.  Garands from 1100 to 1500.   Less than 25 handguns, in this used section.  The ammo area, normally 4 rows, was down to 1.5 rows.  Just saying,  got my boots.

Little 6 pointer keeps wandering around. Too bad he’s not legal. Horn restrictions suck

9:00AM  -- Having a quiet moment with a strong cup of coffee before all the commotion with the cooking and preparing goes totally wild. We're COVID-19 free and the 86Y/O MIL is joining us for dinner this evening. It's a very small gathering compared to years past. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Went over the hill to our Hamilton office to do tender debriefs with three of the four tenderers for a job we did the tender evaluation for !iabout a month ago. Our office there is on the main 'square' and the city has just put up their Christmas tree.

On the way home I stopped on the outskirts of town to get this photo.

This has been the sign at this wreckers since I was a teenager, 35+ years, if not before. One of the staff came out to ask what I was talking photos of. Once she realised I wasn't from the regional council (environmental agency) she was quite interested in how long I had been driving passed the car and even offered me a calendar. She came back with a real calendar and a copy of the latest Petrolhead magazine.

I've been working on a picture frame for my mom for Christmas.
It is not turning out quite as nicely as I had hoped,  but about as well as I expected for my first and the jerry rigged setup I have to work with.
Regadless of the problems that continue to pop up I'm going to finish it because working in the garage is all I can do to keep from crying my eyes out after the very dark visit I had this mourning at the veterinary hospital.
