Title: A hydraulic support
Post by: strik9 on March 05, 2020, 11:17:36 AM
The hydraulic support/safety device keeps the bucket up while taking valves and hoses out of the system.

We needed a heavy duty version for the biggest machines.  An old hyd cylinder and some time with the torch an welder.  7018 rod at 150 amps and one hack hand doing it.

Its pretty basic an idea but the execution really matters.

Get the right structure and weld it good.  Those failing could be someones life ending.  I went overkill as usual.  That bucket and arms on the remains of the 951 in the picture is about three tons.  And the 977 has a much bigger bucket.
