Photobucket has been down for almost a week - people are mad!

I use Photobucket as an image hosting site (along with several others). Most of the images I post on the GG are hosted on PB. That said, PB has to be the worst performer in the image hosting category. I pay a yearly fee, but the service gets worse every year. Fortunately I don't rely on the PB platform as part of a business strategy. People who are hosting images for their businesses have lost a lot of money during the peak holiday season, and the site is still down.

Bottom line - If your business relies on PB, bite the bullet, take the financial hit, and move off of that platform. It will only hurt once -- versus a "death by a thousand cuts" in the future.

Have you tried Postimage.org ?  I find it to be the easiest site to use.

Yes I do, thanks Ken. I use several others as well (inlcuding google, Imgur, and Flickr).

I dropped PB years ago when they did a major change in the TOS agreement. Never looked back.
Now they're charging a fee for the service? Yikes! When something is free you gotta take what you get, but when you're paying for something you should have a say in what happens.

photobucket? hahaha, they can burn, I'll never use them again after their stunt years back. They had it all going away and dropped the ball. never again for me.

Last week I was wondering how Photobucket was getting on after their "No Third Party Hosting without Paying" stunt last year. I stopped using Photobucket at that point. I never had much luck with the free version and always had a $10 subscription, and using the uploader app, seemed to fix most issues.  For GG I either direct upload or host via the Tapatalk app.

Photobucket ? is that the same place that folks pay to have their phots lost, then the rates increase ? Oh and the promise with the new and improved Photokucket it will be different?

From memory when I did it went I abandoned Photobucket when they first started charging there was an extension to Chrome that you could download that sucked everything out of Photobucket for you. At the time Photobucket was only letting you download one image at a time in high res. If you tried to download a whole album you only got very low res versions. I'll have a Google when I get home from work and see what is available.
