Title: Botched my first HJE order
Post by: hickory n Steel on August 21, 2019, 09:41:58 AM
So I ordered a Wright tool 2435 1/4" flex handle to go with my ratchet, a Wright 6" extension because the one thats in my main set has an extremely weak detent, and I ordered a WF/ CRAFTSMAN 33pc bit driver set # 9-47483.

At least that's what I intended to order, I started thinking this morning about why the order was so expensive and realized I had double ordered the flex handle.

I decided not to worry about getting the extra one returned , because I'd only use the $20 for other tools anyways so I figured I can either trade it or possibly just return the generosity and gift it to someone here.
I don't know what I'd trade it for so I'm leaning towards the second option.

Did you request the box art?

No I didn't even know that was a thing.

I've only ordered once and didn't know it either. I've seen pics at "the other place". Apparently if you request, someone there will make a neat drawing on the box they ship your order in.

I've heard about that.  Might have to order something to see if the rumors are true!   :))

Googled some examples and they're pretty cool.
Next time I'll go for it then I can save that section of the box and hang it in the garage.

Just received my order.

The weight flex handles are awesome, and i really love the Craftsman bit driver set too.

The 6" extension om the other hand is defective.
I don't know if there's two balls and no spring or the hole is not deep enough, but the detent will not compress.
I can hear it when I shake it but no dice, pliers won't compress it either.

Called Wright and was told to call HJE,  so I called HJE and Steve is going to get me out a new one.
Wright is going to send me a replacement but I don't know if they'll want the old one back.
If they don't I'll include it with the flex handle and maybe whoever gets it can do something with it.

Edit : I just realized the 1/4 square adapter that came with the bit driver actually has no detent  ???
Go figure, two detent issues with one order  :'(
I don't even plan on needing it so I don't really care, overall the bits seem really nice and the fit into the driver is great.

The flea handle has extremely positive detents, and the positions it offers seem nice.
