Bench drill
« on: November 13, 2018, 08:24:33 PM »
Found this some many years ago.  Bench drill, vs. a post drill.  Can be clamped in a vise, or search long and hard to find the little cast iron feet.  With a sharp bit will drill just fine, wood or mild steel.   The table can be fed in with the wheel, also the drill end can be fed in while cranking.   Never have found a brand name for it,  or the twin I picked up at a farm sale.  Built a fitted box so I can safely take it to blacksmithing events,  figure the old cast iron could get buggered up easily.  Takes bits with tapered square shanks.    Could also be set up to drill the spoke holes in wood wagon wheel feloes.  Anyone have a similar one?
