I went cordless because of starting issues for my wife and then I get drug in to solve a problem I really don't want to tackle.

That's why you buy into whatever battery platform you're already using,  at least with stuff like a string trimmer and blower anyways.
With certain things I'm sure larger battery platforms would be more ideal.

That's what I would do. I've seen some new cordless tools in 36 volt - and they were powered by two 18 volt batteries from the line you already had. Have to say I was impressed with that feature.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered the Craftsman yesterday. I also ordered a 6ah battery, should be here today but dont look for any reviews anytime soon. We have water standing everywhere and it was snowing when I left the house this morning.
