GENERAL DISCUSSION TO INCLUDE OFF TOPIC / Re: Log Splitter Tires

Reminds of the gas station I worked at in college.  Mounting the tires was easy.  Getting them to inflate was often a chore.  Tire changer did not have an inflation ring

Used to have these big O rings you would soap up and put between tire bead and rim, they would pop out when you put the air to the tire. Didn't always work but helped sometimes. Using  Coates 10-10 machines way back.

If you do facebook, follow the Sherwin Williams store in your area. They have sales and thats when I go buy my paint. Last summer I got Duration at 40% off. Still damned expensive but better than full price.

Put up a horizontal End-Fed-Half-Wave (EFHW) HAM radio antenna up about 70 feet running between two large red oaks in my yard. Good for working 10-80m HF without the need of a tuner.

Surprisingly, all of the bands had an SWR between 1.3 and 2.1. - damn good for an antenna without a tuner.

I was informed two years ago that most discount paints, and almost all paint ingredients, were manufactured in China.

We all know what’s happening in China, and the supply of those cheap products has been reduced significantly.

The price of automotive paint and supplies has skyrocketed as well. In some cases five-fold.

Good luck Nick!

I'm in the middle of a refresh of my library, music, front room.  The wallpaper under the chair rail moulding has been removed, the walls holes filled and sanded and all cleaned with the ammonia/vinegar/baking soda solution by my wife.

We have generally used the local Sherwin-Williams store near my house for most paint and have an "account" with them.  When my wife purchased the near-best wall paint it was $70/gal :c029:  And that was after our discount.

Although I'm sure there are less expensive paints available we have always been satisfied with the SW product.

Like many things these days that you don't purchase regularly, prices have increased substantially.

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I don't often see any of the Pileated around my house but do hear their distinctive "thunk" as they peck on the dead trees in the neighborhood.  The Red Bellied, Downy, Hairy and Yellow-Bellied Sapsuckers keep me entertained.

Now I'm watching the Bluebirds raise their three little ones in the house by the garden.

Went to the Dixie oil and gas sign show and came home with a couple of old therms.
