Title: My Mom is winding down

My 94 year old Mom is going home to be with the Lord.  Hospice was called in yesterday.  She has struggled with dementia for just over 2 years, but is wasn't terrible up until the last several months.   Really got bad this past month and her body is wearing out.  Otherwise, she has been blessed with good health.  She has had a good life overall.

I ask for prayers that she will pass peacefully and not suffer.  Thanks

So sorry to hear that Phil. I was fortunate enough to be able to do the hospice care for my mom for 9 months but only 2 weeks for my father. It was a big help having my sister there who is a nurse and in fact she ran the hospice program. I would not trade that experience for anything and it greatly eased my parents transitions by being there for them.

Thanks guys.  My mom will have family around her 24/7 until she goes which will likely be within a few days

so sorry phil. we will be thinking of you and your family.   please keep us in the loop. not that we need to be in the know before anyone else but i always felt comfort   in communicating with others what was happening when i have been in situations similar to this.

Luckily she lived a healthy well lived and loved life!

End of life is a sad thing to watch. So sorry for you and your family. I hope she doesnt suffer .

Phil,  It is  one of those things we know is coming, and getting mentally prepared helps,, but  we may not cover everything.    Went through the same a few years back,  just hang in there.  JK

Mom went home to be with the Lord last night.

I am thankful she didn't suffer much.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the prayers and sentiments.  Met with the funeral home and pastor yesterday.  Viewing is on SUnday and funeral on Monday.  Very blessed that my sisters and I agreed on everything without a lot of discussion, we were all on the same page.

I will be talking at the funeral, hopefully I will be able to keep it together
