A simple little thing found missing a part. I have no idea how it was so the form is just a guess.
Trace on paper and cut a bit of steel to match the paper bit.
-
A little zap of weld and some grinding to make it look at least passable. I did not try to size it really as it is not metric and will only be on display. I do no want to hide the fact it was repaired.
It is a silly thing but it was very little work. It had to be saved.
-
Why not just size it up to fit bikes using those millimeter things and use it? Seems like you're just about there anyway.
Nice save though either way.

Its not long enough to be useful and not really trustworthy.
Much like even the good dogbones there are better choices in the mix.
-
A good dogbone? Is that one that can be used twice?

No that's one that can be removed from the packaging undamaged.
-
You remove them grom the package?
I just keep them around to remind me it could be far worse if I had to try to use them.
The bronze bones would be usable if not for my all metric bike.

Strik,
I have a metric dog-bone wench 12mm-18mm. Haven't used it on my bike... mostly used underneath my Tacoma for motor/trans/diff oil changes. It's not the end-all of multi wrenches but it's handy at times because of the roto feature. It would make a very heavy cumbersome bike wrench (i.e. won't fit in a bike emergency road kit).

I dislike USING pocket and emergency kit tools. I collect them in the same vein as Oxwall bling.
For repairs I carry big clunky useful tools that actually allow leverage.
The junk bike has two cargo baskets and extra weight added in splash guards so a wrench or two in my daily carry crap is minor. I stopped carrying a pump as all around me seem to need it and I don't. Tell me how costly pumps are and all as they wear out my better quality pump and waste my time.
So hard to not suggest they fix the damn leaky tire..... They must know that is costly too. Cheapi boobs.
