Too bad. Nice looking American made boot!
Theres hope yet.
I ordered some black oil resistant Goodyear wedge soles, and some barge cement.
I'm going to resole these myself because I don't have a lot to lose.
Never done it before but the process is fairly simple on a Goodyear welted boot, which is supposedly the entire purpose for this type of construction.
Peel off the old outsole
Prep the surface
Apply cement to both parts and wait till tacky.
Carefully place and pound like crazy with a heavy mallet to ensure a good bond
Trim off the excess and finish the edges.
I know most professional cobblers use a press, but I don't have that so I'm just gonna make a last out of a something. You've just gott have something solid inside the boot when pounding.
