Title: Sweet corvair
Post by: jabberwoki on August 26, 2019, 10:38:52 PM
I`ve always thought these looked good but this one hammered home that thought for good.
With the combination of perfect lowered stance and tire and wheel selection.
Complemented by the fantastic colors of the paint , the tinted glass , the white interior and the chrome, it was love.
I couldn`t stop looking at it.

Nice. I used to drive a '63 Monza coupe. It was a sweet ride that turned a lot of heads. Just plain-jane with hubcaps and beige paint, but I loved that car.

So when do you bring it home and when you dropping in a mid engine big block?

Why ruin it? Here is a four door version with that color combination I had for a short time in the ‘70s. There have been very few cars where having four doors doesn’t ruin the appearance of the car.

Not having a B-pillar really helps the looks. The best engine that GM ever made. Especially with either the four carbs or the turbo.

Pop had two of them when I was a kid, the last one was a 2 door 1969 (i think 69) which was the last year if memory serves. Pop found a good under dash AC set and added that. It was just the basic model but I always liked it. Sadly they were quite rust prone and his was no exception. His was his work car and he sold it shortly after he retired.

I would love to have one like he had now, very nice car with AC. Oh ya, those things are like 4wd in the snow, incredibly good snow car.

1969 was the last year and only 6000 were made. I found another old picture of the ‘65 four door.
