Went to a New Year's day auction----mostly older car stuff, but some tools.  My best buy was a NOS set of four Cadillac Eldorado wire wheel hubcaps 1980-82 for the grand sum of $7.50---Really!!

I just got comfortable in the recliner enjoying a roaring fire in the wood stove when the signal went out on the TV. Put the warm clothes and snow boots on and went trudging through the snow and howling wind to brush off the satellite dish. Winter is so much fun. >:(

Muddy, Sam looks like he enjoyed the farm show.

I always show Mama Sam's pictures, and of course she loves them.  Today she asked, do you think they will have anymore? ;D

Our local museum asked me to shoot some photos of the building because we have recently moved Nolan Ryan's statue there from in front of the City Hall. Ryan grew up in Alvin, Texas and became one of the best baseball pitchers of all time.

As a way to lose weight I've started riding my bike again. A bit gun shy since I crashed on it 4 years ago.
Anyway noticed the rear cluster dragging. Swapped it out for now with another one I had and somehow managed to get the lock ring off (I don't have the special tool for that - will have to make one out of an old socket). Took it apart and found some rust! :-\

Don't know how water got in there when it's packed with grease. Cleaned and scrubbed it all out, and reassembled with new lube. And I managed to have a ball bearing or two roll off the work bench   :-[  , so, had to fill in the spots with spares I have. Took and hour and a half! Geez - I'm getting slow in my old age. :o

At least one more is in the plans. I Wouldn't mind three, a girl  next in the middle and then another boy. That way the girl has a big brother to watch out for her, and little brother to pick on but nature works it's own course.

Dealing with a strange vibration in my 96 Chevy pickup, it comes and goes, above 45mph.   Was nice out and picked up some of the winter trash in the yard.

Going to make a batch of Bailey’s Irish cream  donuts with my daughter - anything that has Bailey’s and Guiness stout in the mix must be good

LOL -- Sorry Noel -- I'd send you some, but my daughter and her friends ate three batches already.
Also --- I blanked out your address in case spammers or other ID hungry miscreants are active on the site -- no use taking chances these days.

Just in case you and those handsome grandkids want to treat yourself -- Here's the recipe:

Donut:
1 cup Flour
1/3 cup Cocoa Powder
1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1/4 tsp Salt
1/2 cup Guinness Extra Stout
1 Egg
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup Sugar
1/3 cup melted Butter

Glaze:
1 cup Powdered Sugar
1-2 tsp Bailey's Irish Cream
2 tsp Water

Preheat oven to 325F.
Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt.
In a large bowl, whisk together Guinness, egg, sugar, brown sugar, and butter

Stir dry ingredients into the wet until just combined. Spray doughnut or cornbread pans with nonstick spray.
Fill each cavity 2/3 full.

Bake for 12 minutes, and let cool

Combine all glaze ingredients and stir until blended.
Dip the top of the donuts in the glaze and place on wire rack to dry.

They're absolutely delicious -- even for a guy like me who's sworn off of sugar. BUT you have to make an exception some of the time  ;)

Check the carrier bearing. My 98 would go thru them every 50K.
