Didn't do much, cut up some fire wood and reorganized a bit. Just waiting for this "big storm" to come through.

I went to the hardware store for some hooks and found these Crawford locking peg hook assortments, they come with these little black thingies what lock them in place.
I also picked up a second Stanley 10-499 on sale for $5.
Oh and my SAE NAPA USA combos came in.

Looks like you've started to really that slippery slope you were so afraid of.

I'm guessing the total to this point = what the HF thing would have cost ....spending wisely I'd say.

Welcome to the club!
Tell me about it.
My current plan is to just start acquiring sockets of which many sizes and drives I need, but there's always lots of good deals on ratchets to be had on ebay.

Hell I keep looking at this inexpensive trio of Kobalt USA ratchets that are tempting me, but I know they're obviously just a crsftsman QR with a different handle shape.

I'm not exactly happy with my old proto 3/8 round head flex for most situations, but the sockets are more important if I can control myself .

For just the work bench, pegboard, and hooks I'm at about $80.
Bot since the HF came with a light I guess I should count the $30 it cost me for new bulbs and florescent starters for that overhead light.

Depends on the era of Kobalt. The early stuff was Williams - the ratchet guts were the same as Snap-on. Later stuff you're correct it's Danaher/Craftsman.

These are later ones, you can see that they're literally just a raised pannel Craftsman with a different handle.

Sometimes that is needed pep. Just because it looks good on the outside doesn't outweigh what's on the inside. Take my first wife for example...….
