MAGA

If you can’t fix it with a hammer, it must be electrical.

I resealed a 1965 Crosman model 140 I recently scored off eBay.

It shoots good as new, and doesn't look half bad for 54 years old.

Congrats Tim.  Time to get started on that pink peddle tractor  ;D

H&S, that Crossman and I are the same age. it looks like it held up a bit better than me.

Today was a bust. I took off to haul some scrap metal in. I noticed that the blinkers weren't working when I was leaving the scrap yard. Found the brake light fuse and the blinker fuse blown. Seems that somewhere in the loading or unloading I smashed the wires. Got frustrated trying to find the damage so I Wound up re-wiring the trailer. Finished it up at 930 this evening. Was planning on making a run to San Antonio tommorow to pick up an onan generator. So I had to get it going.

You weren't perhaps born in September were you ? ???
This gun was manufactured in #September of '65.
This makes my 7th vintage American pumper, and 13th pumper in my arsenal of 22 or so airguns.

I successfully repaired my front loading Whirlpool duet washer. With a gaggle of electronics, I navigated through the error codes and the (helpful) owners manual to diagnose and replace the MCU (motor control unit) at $250 a pop, or $180-ish "rebuilt", I feared a bad diagnosis and didnt want to hang parts just for the cost and experience only to find the washer didn't respond to the new part.

Fast forward to a a VERY helpful local shop that has used control boards, we validated the bad part, $50 later it was hung and life was back to normal.....UNTIL.....i saw water dripping on top of the MCU plastic protective cover (shields it from water damage). Turns out the root cause of failure was that discharge hose rubbing up against the frame and allowing water to meet with electronics (a bad combination). Fortunately, I had the back of the machine off while doing the shakedown run and shut-er-down in time before history repeated. Discharge tube replaced, life is back to normal for a reasonable sum of $$. It took some time, and many phone calls, but it's now off the project list, and frosty beverages are back in my future.

 :)

Put new pads and rotors on the back of my pick up in-between the raindrops tonight. Has one heck of a shake like a warped rotor.

Put a new water softener in, pain in the butt.  Had to criss cross pipe as inlet and outlet were opposite of old one.  Had one leak that that took forever to fix. ended up taking it apart and sanding both down to shiny brass and copper to get it to take solder. Lead free solder isn't awful but it isn't as easy leaded stuff.
Still need to program correctly and clamp some pipes. I cheated and used pex for the criss cross.   ;D

made a big batch of  grainery pickles  and pickled 4 dozen eggs.

i had been making pickled eggs by soaking them in whatever pickle juice i had left but i made nice with the guy in a great meat market in a nearby town. they sell boar's head horseradish pickles in bulk. i talked him out of a 2 gallon bucket of left over brine. we will see how this works.

Yum, those eggs look tasty.

I often put some onions and carrot pieces in with mine. The veggys are as good as the eggs.
