Dying at low rpm and then doesn't want to start. I figure it needs a fuel filter and I have a new one. Just don't have the energy to crawl under there to change it. I cleaned and recharged the K$N air filter

Bought a 2003 Suburban a while back with a K&N.  Didn't run right.  The over oiled filter had fouled the Mass Air Flow sensor.  Replaced filter with stock, cleaned the MAF, and that fixed the issue.  Just my opinion, but K&Ns should not be used on newer cars.  Maybe this is your issue, maybe not.  Good Luck

Replaced the fuel filter and still no joy.

K&N air filters have served me well for years, and I don't consider my 98 GMC pickup a newer model.
The problem existed before I recharged the filter, so I can't blame it. I guess I will have to take it to a shop.

I'm not sure what is happening but there are three car shows in town today, for a population of 130,000.

Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

Unloaded the truck full of another load of junk treasure from my sister's barn. This was in there and the wife promptly claimed it to hang in her art studio. I miss out again. 36" diameter aluminum and only one bullet hole which is rare for NV.

That is a good looking motor.  Here in the states, we have tended to concentrate on V8's and miss out on the different power plants from around the world

Site meeting location yesterday afternoon. Opposite the contractor's site office. Since there was only four of us for the weekly site meeting we sat at the picnic table. It was the clients idea.

520km round trip today up State Highway 35 to have a look at a couple of locations. 1900mm diameter culvert that is 85mm out of round over about a third of it's length.

In a nice spot though

The final inspection of a scour job we did before Christmas.

Rural, beautiful scenery you enjoy everyday.

The culvert out of round, is it collapsing from weight?  Will that require immediate action, wait and see or just needs to be scheduled and done as time allows?  I guess I am asking, is it serious or just needs to be handled?

The likely fault is that the pipes were not compacted around the sides properly when they were first installed probably in the 1960s. There is 11m of fill over the culvert so it has quite a load on it. If it collapses and the embankment washes out, there is no alternative route until a forest road is opened up to the public and bought up to a safe standard around the area. It is on the find a solution and do something about it this/next year time frame.

The Mazda truck was painted over four years ago and the Ford Red alkyd enamel was starting to fade on the hood. That coupled with a few bird poop stains did a number on the finish.

Today I wet sanded the area with 2000 grit paper and then compounded and polished
the surface to a new shine. Finally sealed it with some fresh wax - looks presentable again.

I'd say that paint is holding up pretty well.
