Wow, those bovine designs look like a 1960's "pharmaceutical experience" --  :cool2:

After leaving the Oilers I headed over the hill to the Glen Afton Line. This is a heritage railway in the northern Waikato near Huntly. It is operated by the Bush Tramway Club and have a good collection of equipment from the bush tramways of the timber industry, as well as the industrial and coal mining railways of New Zealand. They have around fifteen locomotives including American geared steam Heisler and Climax and New Zealand built improved versions; a selection of standard locomotives. They also have a good collection of English and local built diesel locomotives. Their oddest locomotive is a battery electric one built by Goodman of Chicago in 1922. They have about two miles of track. They have lost about a mile of track to the west as the open cast coal mine in the area has expanded. As it is summer here they are not running their steam locomotives due to the risk of fire.

Went and opened our track up for a local guy that wanted somewhere to test his non-race buggy. Some dollars for the club and a quiet morning in the sun for me. It didn't go as planned for him and he broke it after three laps!

The radio control car club had their 1/5th scale race day on at their track beside ours, so I stopped and took some photos.

1/5th scale is pretty big.

So when this guy tried to occupy the same space as me I moved pretty fast!

Now I'm getting ready to go back to work tomorrow after three weeks holiday.

Not a big deal but some might like it..
Playing around hitting the door rails with Blaster garage door lube. Dawns on me it could be good for the all the slides on the tool & storage boxes.

Turns out it is, over the years, used WD was good not long lasting constant maintenance. Any oil or greases, get loaded with dirt, becomes gummy.

Ran out, but getting another spray bomb and finish the rest.  I just love new ideas... LOL

Thanks pep as I never considered using garage door lube on boxes and I will try it on some older boxes I have.

For a long time I've had this wood box my uncle made as a kid or something, I used to store my knives in it but grew out of this box a few years ago and it's sat empty since.
Recently I decided I wanted a boot care box, and after a bit of thinking on how to I'd like to go about making it I realized it would be so much easier to just add a platform to the top of this and call it good.
I had a basic idea in my head of what I wanted and just figured it out as I went along , it took maybe an hour all said and done with  playing it by feel to come up with the best angle and such .

It's certainly functional,  and I'm happy to see that my handy work is at least a bit better than my uncles was when he made the box.
He's 10x more skilled than I am now, and at my age was probably at least a few times more skilled than I am.
I may be progressing a bit slower but I'm getting there, and my rate of improvement seems to be speeding up some.

Took one of the old Sun portaliner carts I wasn't really using and bolted the drill press to the top.

Now I can move it if need be, and theoretically I can store drill bits and stuff in it though it currently has some old automotive service books in it.
