Decided to take an early paddle up the lake. I was the only one out there, and it was fantastic.

This retirement thing might just work out after all - LOL

Yes, he is a golden retriever. He is about eighteen months old and still hasn't stopped growing!

Well if he has the lead in his mouth, can't he walk himself? :))

Because he can't open the door at the bottom of the stairs.

Finn is not the only golden retriever I know. This is Archie, who is nearly a year old and belongs to one of my co-workers. A few months ago Archie did spend most of the day in the office due to a fence failure issue at his home.

North America well represented there.   Today I dug out the HF wire welder, repaired the adjustment handles on my 1930s John Deere plow.  Went to put it back together when I remembered the steel pins, things pivot on, were nearly worn through,  so plugged the welder back in,  built them up, ground them round.  Went back to the house for a heavier coat, winds picked up to 44mph, and 48'  F,   not used to winter yet.

I'm going to post this road trip in Rural53's Off Topic and Interesting Photos Thread to try and keep it all together.

Laid an old friend to rest this morning. He was my mentor in the cattle business and in life. I’m gonna miss him.

Managed to get the fixed gazebo installed on the dock. The old canopy was an embarrassment, and the wife wanted a hardtop.
Had to hire a second pair of hands to do the  heavy lifting, but it went up surprisingly well for being a kit. All powder coated galvanized steel.

Time for a cigar and a beer.

Sorry mate , chin up.
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?
