Over in Thurmond WV Tim? Love WV -- and the roads.

Yep first time at Thurmond. Absolutely great roads and scenery I'm WV. Truly gets a bad rap.... although some sections you can see where the stereotypes come from. The amount of vehicles on cinder blocks is astounding lol

Here a little bit of the past and present.....

A CSX engine through the 1922 C&O coaling tower.

BTW -- That coaling tower was engineered for the C&O by Fairbanks-Morse. It's was quite a complicated conveyer design for the time.

it was ahead of it's time. Most in that time period used a cable or drag shovel kind of setup. From a pit.

Future towers went on to use the design like the C&O ones.

Did a brake job a work. Came he and did the brakes on the back of the Oldsmobile. When I took the caliper off, I thought I got lucky with just the pins being rusty and needing grease. The caliper was sticking, so it took a caliper anyway

Also show you one of the reasons I'm ok with having Craftsman and HF tools for at home box.

It took me about  10 minutes to put the sockets on the tray the way I wanted them.....she had them scatter in 10 seconds :))

She was having fun she was getting as dirty as I was!

The other reason came out later grabbed his lawn chair and sat it right next to me asking all kinds of questions.

Made a deal to swap a neighbors old tractor mower for my labor to get his 87 F-250 going.  Went to his place this morning with my pickup and trailer, he helped load it.   Going to need a fuel pump at least.  Plus I drained out 5 gallons of 4 year old gas.  His place is only 5 miles from mine, but goes over 3 of the steeper hills in the township.  This is a big deal to me as my current tow vehicle is a 96 chevy 1/2t with 240,000 miles, made it ok.  Might get it back to him tomorrow.

Congrats John -- '87 F250 was the golden era for that line of trucks. What engine does it have? ...and does it still have a carburetor?

This has the 460,  carbureted, 4 spd. All original truck with 180k hard farm miles.  Should have it going by dark.  Counted 8 Fords on his place, a 70 being the oldest.

Beautiful country.
Is the need enough? Or does the want suffice?

A few may remember I broke a body mount bolt off in my pickup trying to put on new running boards...

Well I've been dreading it but I decided to go after it tonight. Used three of a farmers favorite tools.... Pb Blaster, heat, and vise grips. Jacked the body up enough to squeeze a vise grip in between the body and bushing.... And to my amazement she came out fairly easy.
