The International 1086 with the chrome twin stacks has a 16V-92TA Detroit Diesel. As you can imagine it sounds awesome.

Tractor pulling seems a bit different here in the states.  One, the big boys here seem to have a lot of wheel spin on purpose and often shave the lugs on the tires down so they can get wheel speed up.  Also, they seem to leave the line harder and often have the front wheels in the air the whole pull.

Muddy can certainly correct me if I am wrong and maybe its just a different class thing

Thanks for posting

How are they adding more drag down the track.

Does indeed leave ready track, good one. Impressive & well thought out.

The JCB is running, and free wheels, and basically lifts itself off the ground with its front and rear three point linkage. Depending on how heavy the competitor is depends on how quickly the computer is set to apply 100% weight. They can add dead weight to the sled or hook another tractor on behind free wheeling to add resistance. At one stage the had a CAT Challenger hooked on.

That is modern pulling around here today. Big billet aluminum engines, multiple turbo (often 4) and lots and lots of wheel speed. And tons of $$$

These would be more like what we call , open classes over here.  Mostly applies to antique tractor pulling.

Even "stock" tractor pulls aren't stock any more.

Was actually Saturday....

Dad myself and the kids that ok my tractor and plow to a plow day.

Both the tractor and plow were my grandfather's. Himself, my uncle and my father put many many hours in the seat.

Weekend didn't go as planned while changing trans fluid in my car. I got a call....

My father was in a car accident and flown to local hospital.

In pretty rough shape was intuabeed on scene. He has fractured orbital socket and cheek bones. A fractured L3 vertebrae. Both his eyes are heavily bruised and swollen shut.

Went to see him again today. Swelling has gone down a bit. Still couldn't open his eyes. However he was less sedated and awake and responsive. Was actually talking to my mother. When I spoke to him he would give me thumbs up or head shakes.

Right now plan is a back brace and once swelling is gone enough check health of eyes and vision then surgery for facial fractures.

Cardiologist believe  Arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat) caused him to faint causing the accident. With multiple stents in his heart already he is more than likely looking at a defibrillator implant.

It's going to be a long road but we will get through it.
