Well my birthday present to myself turned up today.

They reckon you should replace your mattress every ten years. I've definitely got my monies worth out of my current one. I'm not sure which one I'm actually using, the one I bought when I moved to Gisborne in '95 (28 years) or the one out of my room in my parents house that is about 35 years old.

That is excellent news. So glad to hear it.

Did they give you a sneeze pillow?
People who confuse etymology and entomology bug me in ways I can’t put into words.

Not today but earlier in the week, I voted in our general election. Tomorrow, Saturday, is the official polling day but for the last couple of elections it has been easy, even encouraged to vote in the two weeks leading up to the official polling day. The book shop beside the polling station I went to had this sign outside.

Stood outside in the sun for a while until they worked out why the alarms went off.
