I have been slowly working on getting a coaster brake hub on my fun bike so it has rear brakes.

Tonight the last bits were added and the rim trued up.  Its on the bike.
Now the bike looks nearly exactly the same as before but with a coaster brake arm.

It will stop finally!!!

Yesterday I went to the office for the first time in six weeks (NZ went back to Level 2 and work sent me to work from home). Today started with my glasses breaking. These are the ones I wear before/after my contact lenses. I'll use some two part epoxy and glue them back together.

Today I visited the next stage of the safety project I'm looking after.

Where are the UTEs made?
MAGA

If you can’t fix it with a hammer, it must be electrical.

Hope the repair holds well. I hate when my glasses break.

But either way it's better than poor old Henry Bemis (played by Burgess Meredith) in the Twilight Zone episode Time Enough to Last.

They are Mitsubishi Triton utes built in Thailand. The Triton is at the cheaper end of the Japanese ute market and hence are quite common in the fleet market.

Loved that episode -- classic episode depicting the many "Murphy's Law" moments in one's life.

I had the titanium frame on my glasses break. I stopped by my neighbor's optician shop and his son was able to fix them as he had been shown how to braze those frames. Cost me $30 but beat getting new glasses when that pair ended up being the last pair I needed as I no longer need glasses except for readers.

That TZ episode hit home as I love to read and to have every book for your use available and you break your glasses....... :41:

Knocked off early yesterday to get my hair cut. The guys I know who build rally cars are just down the road so I stopped in to see them. They were doing a wheel alignment on this, old school style with sting lines and a tape measure.

Car is a AP4 spec Ford Fiesta that they built. It is a 1800 turbo 4wd at 360hp. The only things from the original car is the head lights, tail lights, tail gate, quarter windows and firewall. They spent 1,600 hours on it.

I've never seen a four post lift with the rocker panel lift attachment before.

I spent the better part of the day fixing up the rear gang of this.  The left side axle support broke away where it bolts to the frame.

Cut grind weld until it was structural again  and tighten up all the loose bolts again.

Everything finally came in so I put the Tennessee handle on my old Fenwick lunkerstik.

The rings were originally anodized black, but with some fine sandpaper and a polishing wheel with compound I was able to turn that black into a vibrant blue steep finish, the cork I went with a more aged finish to better match this rod which has some good years behind it.
Always lookin' to learn

Done already? Starting to seem some  fields of beans and corn being taken off. Hasn't started in full swing for everyone just yet. The cooler weather this week will help dry things out.
