The central Alabama weathermen have been going non stop since around noon.
So far several deaths and lots of damage from central Mississippi to north Georgia.

I've been in tornados and no fun there. I will take an earthquake any day over a tornado or hurricane. We do get 90+mph winds here but we are used to that.

They are more of a pain than scary. Fence companies love all the work they have after a big blow levels all the solid wood fences. One big wind bent the town square flagpole over at a 45 degree angle and they replaced it with a massive pole. You get to do plenty of house cleaning after the big wind as we get plenty of dust flying. The winds can come over the Sierra crest at 200mph and some foothill areas can get 100mph gusts.
