Here is a different 1/2 inch drive set that I picked up cheap a few years ago.  Works great around propane tanks etc.  Ampco, the none sparking tool co.
Very interesting.
Always lookin' to learn

Here is a Craftsman =v= 1/2” drive set that I found in what I believe to be it’s original box. It was missing a few pieces which I had sitting around. It came with a nice =v= DOE wrench set in the bag. It’s not in great shape but would be a good user set.

Yeah, I thought so. Here is what it looked like when I brought it home.

It strikes me as odd that the box was silver or gray on the outside and red on the inside. I would have expected silver or gray, both inside and outside. I do think it is an original Cman box though.
You boys better hold on cause I'm gonna have to stand on it!

So I'm not sure where this should go, as it has a bunch of matching sockets in 1/2 and 3/8 drive. It should have a bunch of other bits in it, like drive tools etc. but they were long gone, except for a Ferret sliding T handle (not pictured) and a 3/8 universal that is very rusty and as loose as a universal can get without being disassembled. It had a bunch of other interesting junk in it, though including a Plomb WF-21 rat in 3/8, a Plomb 5262  12" extension in 3/8, and a bunch of random WF Plomb sockets in 9/32 and 3/8 drive. It also had a large flat head prybar...screwdriver marked Massey Harris USA (I gave to my dad, looked like a Pratt-Read).

A lot of the 1/2 drive sockets look like they had a pipe wrench or channel locks on the O.D., all chewed up. Still pretty cool, though. I've used them a few times in a pinch with no issues, except sockets lack any detent. I bought this a number of years ago for $20 wanting the box only (not knowing then it was basically a tool collector's starter kit  :D :D :D ). But the partial set of sockets, sliding T, and universal are all dated '34 or '35, which I thought was cool.

Box measures approx. 20"ื7"ื3"

As shown, it is overflow 1/2 drive storage. Most of the sockets in the trays came with, (lots of random USA brand fill ins). Everything else has been added.

Okay. I checked the Craftsman stash and there was one in there. I also put the crossbar back in that I had immediately robbed out of the set.

It's a nice set -- what sizes are the three deep sockets? I don't think deep sockets originally were part of the set --

They are 13/16”, 7/8”, 15/16” and 1”. Pretty useful sizes and they seemed to fit in with the set as extras. The 13/16” could double up as a spark plug socket.

You gotta use what you've got.
Heck, my old refurbed S-K box is full of Bonney and Craftsman.  :-[
