Georgia beginning to open back up for business
« on: April 22, 2020, 02:29:28 PM »
If you haven't heard, our governor, Brian Kemp, has decided to give the go ahead to begin opening the economy back up.  The plan includes allowing restaurants, gyms, nail salons, bowling alleys, etc, to open up and incorporate safe practices beginning Friday.  Of course he's getting killed for it in the press.  Atlanta's mayor, along with several others, want to keep everything shut down indefinitely, and think Kemp is a rube for allowing businesses to reopen.  They're forecasting all sorts of gloom and doom including many more fatalities, which has been overstated all along.

As for me, this is why I voted for the man (of course there's no way I would've voted for his opponent).  Kemp realizes we have to get back to normal and this shelter in place needs to start ending.  The attack on civil liberties the last six weeks has truly been frightening.

Bold move, hope it goes well for you all.

On a side note, I went into Baltimore today to make a delivery right beside John Hopkins Hospital.  I drove through the city to get there and there was no one on the streets, at least relatively speaking.  Traffic was extremely light.  It was an eerie feeling.  Even the panhandlers were light.

It will, fresh air and sun shine does wonders for the immune system. Hide inside, stale air, darkness, mold and other nasties abound.

Go outside walk around breath some good old fresh air. People are over reacting.

This week, snow cone truck causing the hood. With my own eyes, saw 20 kids and mothers all standing at the corner waiting for the snow cone truck.

1776 ................... what happened!

I've noticed a lot more traffic the past few days. Went grocery shopping this morning and it was packed. looks like people are getting tired of being locked down here to.

Our AZ governor has "modified" his executive order and now allows elective surgeries to begin. But not a hint on everything else - and his May 1st deadline is but a week away.

So, one can get their boobs done.... but I can't get a haircut?  :a102:

The Mayor of Las Vegas wants to re-open casinos in a week. I wonder how they plan on setting it up for social distancing? They normally like the rows of machines packed shoulder to shoulder. Whenever they re-open our casinos I don't know if we will enter them for some time. Several of the restaurants we patronize are in the casinos and you have to walk through the gaming area to get there. They are designed that way for a reason as they want you to drop some coin or actually bills on your way to or from chow.

When Trump says georgia is crazy you might want to think about slowing down some.

What is two more weeks or a month of this sheltering in place going to accomplish?

Not sure what it would do,  I would assume it would lower the spread of Covid. I guess you will find out what happens when you open up again.

Good for Georgia, stop letting these authoritarians step on your rights and financial welfare.

I hope Georgia does well with opening back up. I don't want to hear the whiners saying I told you so if it fails and cases surge.

Oh, they're all set to do that and blame the governor for anyone that dies.
