I think Trump's best debate moment was when he laid into Joe about the spying crap against him and Joe calling for the use of the Logan Act against Flynn. I think Joe was a little shocked at getting called out on that. The Commission on Presidential Debates is going to get tough on the rules for the next debates by putting control of the microphones in the moderators hands. Just because Chrissy Wallace blew it last night with his favoring Biden in every way.

It wasn't moderated well but I really have to disagree with the Trump campaign strategy.  If Trump had been calm, used the facts, and just let Biden talk himself into a corner, he would've gotten a lot of undecideds.  Coming off as an aggressive bully was a losing strategy.  The President's behavior should match that of the office.  Unfortunately, he bailed out Biden...when Chris Wallace wasn't.

You could see what Trumps plan was, get joe off his prepared lines, get him to lose focus, make him snap. But the moderator stepped in and played defense for joe and that pissed Trump off and he went into full bull in china shop mode........But I dont think it hurt him. Trump base is huge, it has only grown since 2016. Just like in 2016 Trumps base sticks with him, joe stammered and read off cookie cutter political phrases that I think the country is tired of hearing. If anything, the undecided voter is put off by both an will stay home.

I agree completely, it won't hurt him with his base, but that's not what he should be thinking about.  The campaign needs to be going after those undecideds, especially women.  Trump didn't need to try and get Biden off his game, Biden was doing a good enough job on his own.  Worrying about what your opponent is doing is a desperate strategy.  There was no need for it.

What is so infuriating is Trump's policies are clearly better than Biden's, the problem is the spokesperson.  People will vote for Biden not because they think his policies are better, they just want someone they like more.  Likeability shouldn't be a big factor, but in today's 24 hour social media newscycle, it is.  I'm not saying Trump shouldn't attack the media at times for their dishonesty and fake news, but you have to be smart about picking your spots.  Tuesday wasn't the time.  Tuesday he should've showed he was presidential and picked apart Biden's arguments, which would've been easy to do.  And he wouldn't have lost one voter from his base either.

I swear Trump is his own worst enemy.

What's with the name calling?  Pep, you may think Trump is wonderful, but half the people in this country don't.  Actually a lot more than half recognize that he is an Ass, but some of those vote for him because they don't like the big gov socialist agenda of the Dems.  This will be a very close election.  It will hinge on suburban soccer moms and black turnout in a few states (Michigan and Wisconsin).  Neither of those groups liked Hillery.   You think Trump's debate performance helped him in either of those states?  You think his debate performance will help the Republicans keep the Senate?

Pep, your kind of predictable.  There are a bunch of old guys like you, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what they think, and how they will vote.

d42jeep, I'm more interested in your thoughts.  What do you think are the biggest issues in our country?  Obviously race is a concern of yours, what else?  Do you consider yourself D, R, or independent?  Did either candidate say anything that you liked?  Not looking to pick a fight.  Just interested in the thoughts of someone who might have a different background than me.  Thanks

Wasn't meant to be a lecture.  Trump is an ASS.  I stand by that.  Would any of you want him dating your daughter?  Would any of you trust him in a business deal?

OK, so I called Pep an old guy.  Most of us on here are old guys.  I don't see that as name calling.

Pep called d42jeep a moron. I assume because d42 expressed his opinion that Trump is a racist.  Pep, if you don't think Trump is a racist, make your case.  Calling someone a moron who doesn't share your view?  Whats the point in that?  It really doesn't matter.  What does matter is that some people do THINK Trump is a racist.  And some of those people might be motavated to vote this November, when 4 years ago, they stayed home.  And while they are voting for the Pres, they will also be voting for Senators.  The Dems are certainly trying to paint Trump as a racist.  The Dems are trying to make race an issue.  Trump is walking right into that trap, taking the rest of the Republican party with him.

Trump is the least racist of those two idiots. yeah Trumps a bit of an idiot but he actually comes across as someone who cares about America. I dont personally like him. I held my nose and voted for him in 2016. After seeing his performance the past 3 years I'm damned proud to vote for him again. For nothing else just to see what level the Democrats will stoop to to get rid of him.

I'll agree the debate was a shit show from all 3 participants. I watched about 10 minutes of it and got disgusted and turned it off. I dont feel anyone "won" that one.

I dont pay much attention to the main stream media, They scream racism over just about anything. I've watched the media lie to the American public time after time and nothing get done about it, Till Trump came along and started the "fake news " movement. Now the credibility of the media is at an all time low.

As far as undecided voters, do you think the "soccer moms" or old people are gonna go down and vote for Biden after seeing him uphold the violence we've been seeing in this country as an "idea" I dont think there are many undecided at this point, our country is so divided at this point I think what is undecided is will the old school Democrats go vote or just set this one out.

What's with the name calling?  Pep, you may think Trump is wonderful, but half the people in this country don't.  And that half could not poor piss out of a boot with the directions  printed on the heal. In other words that does not mean much.

2 things race is a red herring, it is the new dog ate my home work excuse. For of load of lazy people, law breakers. A trump card for some  to use on others to muzzle or stop a conversation, that  uses FACTs to counter the nonsense spewed.

Second, Trump gets things done all these wimpy, marsh mellows, with the over blown self esteem. Just cannot handle the straight talk. Trump is the very president this country needed, to kick it in the ass.

Here "It will hinge on suburban soccer moms and black turnout" this tells me who you are. Take a walk around the block ......... there are quite a few more ethnic groups to consider. Problem with your type is instead of seeing Americans as Americans as one nation. You   JUDGE folks using identity as your baseline/ benchmark.

So get off your high horse, this president is still kicking ass, you don't like well tuff shit friend.
You do not know a damn thing about who I am, to be very clear. Kindly do not kid yourself. I called the guy a moron cause he is a foolish, foolish, foolish little boy.

I take a side, I draw a line in the sand, you tying the walk that line will never get it.

Best wishes & regards,
Pep

My block is a 5 mile walk.  My neighbors all look like me (except for the cows). None of us would be considered ethnic.

The majority of Americans do not live on a block that looks like my block.

The demographics of our country are changing. There is no rational reason to antagonize groups (Black, Hispanic, Women, Educated/Science) that when formed into a coalition outnumber your base.  The socialists/communists understand this.  Reince Priebus, Paul Ryan, and other Republicans that some Trump fan boys like to call RINOS, understood this.  Priebus/Ryan were trying to build a Big Tent Republican party to head off the looming demographic situation before Trump came along.  Bullying, dividing, and name calling are not good long term strategies unless you want to be the permanent minority party.

Don't talk to me about Rance Priebus, Paul Ryan or any of the rest of those assholes that have been selling us down the river for years.  Of course I voted for McCain and Romney when they ran for president but I held my nose when I did it because those two were basically surrogates of the Democrat party.  Trump is a loud, egocentric, blowhard boor, but he's easily the best President since Reagan.  He stands up for the majority of Americans and believes in what this country stands for.  I've had more than enough of Republicans like McVain, Romney, Ryan, Boehner, etc. who tell us one thing when campaigning but are a bunch of Democrat lapdogs once they're in power.  For proof of that, refresh your memory about how many times Republicans rolled over when Obama was president.

I'm obviously not alone as a large portion of this country felt the same way.  Rust Farmer you sound like a Never Trumper which is your right, but I'd rather take a chance on someone like Trump than die on a hill of supposed morality and let a truly horrible person like Hillary become president.

The Demorats are the dividers, make no mistake about that. two words identity politics

You sir are either thick or stupid. President trump has done a lot to level the playing field.  For the LOOMING demographic, of my country ........ notice I said done.

There is a huge difference of doing and talking. Are you are aware of that? Maybe not as a Benhiden supporter you think talking about shit solves problems

I can tell you this, your Demorats spew enough hot air to send a hot air ballon to the moon.

It I were a Trump fan boy I'd much rather be that. Then some clueless, bed wetting lefty.

Anyway here is hoping the people put Benhiden out to pasture were he absolutely belongs.

I did not watch the "debate", nor will I watch any others that may happen. In my opinion, these are not debates, they are slugfests with no outcome at all. When I was much younger, a debate was an exchange of ideas and opinions geared toward convincing the other side to look at your side. This is NOT what they are doing now. When I was in school, the teacher would have each side study ALL sides of the issue before the actual debate, and sometimes students were called on to present a different side than he or she actually supported. Imagine that !
