Just saw a mileage and towing test on the Ford Lightning that was featured on youtube (do a search, there are dozens of them by now), and the consensus was that the vehicles themselves, and support infrastructure are currently not up to the task to replace ICE vehicles. All the tests were subject to a lot of frustration with the charging system, and to a lesser extent, the complexity of the onboard electronics.
IMHO the future of EV rests with hydrogen fuel cells -- easy and fast to fill up, and the technology is an improvement oven battery and hybrid solutions.
