1995 Isuzu Rodeo rear brake caliper replacement --
« on: August 15, 2018, 09:19:39 AM »
I've been noticing a slight dragging and scraping noise on the RR of my old Rodeo beater, and today was just right to look at that problem. It needed new rear pads anyway so i decided to get it done before the real crappy weather hits. The lift makes it a lot easier on the knees and the back -  thumbsup2

RR pads -- notice a difference? The left one is almost worn down while the right has some "meat" left on it.

The parking brake shoes needed a little cleaning, but were in pretty good shape -- I've never changed them in 17 years and the parking brake works flawlessly.
Nice work Isuzu!! That design is a winner --  beerdude

Long story short, the caliper bolts were pretty much glued into the caliper, so the caliper couldn't slide worth a damn. Just look what it did to the RR rotor. Now we know why that pad was so worn.

Pretty much ground to a pulp on the left side --

So, new pads on the rear and a new rotor on the RR was enough to get the job done for today. It stops like new.
