montezuma mounting pics for highland
« on: August 21, 2018, 12:39:40 PM »
highland sent me a pm asking how i mounted a montezuma box to my challenger 55. i don't have any real single answer to that as i have made several mounts to go on everything from trucks to tractors, track tractors combines and implements. i almost always use factory frame holes and iron that is plenty heavy. other than that it is just some boxed in angle iron welded up  to hold the box and sometimes a large bar as well.

these pics of  the box mounted on the right  side of 55.

here is a box mounted on my combine. notice the square tube at an angle. a large bar sets in there just nicely.

the last pic is of the mount on my 4440. probably the first one i made. notice it was made for a smaller box and modified to fit the larger montezuma.

Good looking mounts, following the farmers creed of: If in doubt go one size/gauge heavier.   You keep them all loaded all the time, or switch out the box when using the combine?   Was wondering if anyone was getting use out of those Montezuma boxes.

I'm sure running that machinery isn't "fun" but I would definitely give a try. Guys who don't farm for a living don't know any better  ;D

Running the machinery is the easy part finding out why it won't run right is the hard part along with sitting still for long periods... One farmer I know read Playboy while plowing ... Lol

Harlan, I remember years ago when you introduced us to Montezuma boxes on GG. They were revolutionary and oh so cool. Looks like you taken their utility to a whole new level. How many do you have now?
