diesel shop work table, sheer overkill style
« on: September 12, 2018, 03:57:25 PM »
Several of us working in the shop took swipes at welding this up.

It is 6.5 by 2' and the uprights are 2.5" heavy wall square stock.    Solid frame with welded panel upper and lower platforms.   It laughs at truck axles as weight goes.    When we moved it to where it sets three of us had to grunt and it is on wheels.

The grinder is on rubber mounted steel plate with the guard welded to the base plate.  Keeps the table top cleaner.

A thick plate chunk of beam is the deck under the vise.  Thats a pretty standard wire brush to contrast for size.
The boss is proud of that thing.  Its huge and indestructable.

Any tool is indestructible until I get near it. Lol

I beg to differ.  I have Oxwall tools and those are defective or easily destroyed by the first use.  Small children can fold those wrenches up.

300 kilos of fat old guys hanging on to 12' of pipe failed to do any damage to how it was built or mounted.  That vise is good.
