Post by: skfarmer on April 13, 2024, 10:37:56 PM
has begun.  opened up some ground with the heavy harrow this morning. spread some fertilizer on it, worked it again and seeded about half of it. tough going but hope i can find some more dry ground to go on tomorrow.

Keep up the good work. I, for one, definitely like to hear about it.

Thank You,

Tough soggy spring in central Virginia. The ground is waterlogged and swamp-like. Fields in our area still have some standing water.

Good luck Harlan -- hope everything get done in short order.

Feb and March were really rainy here, much higher than is usual. So, the weeds and Bermuda grass have taken over!
Took alot longer than last year to prep the garden and get rid of all the weeds. Hoping the harvest is worth the work.

Got about 8-10 inches of rain in three days the first week in April. And a couple of rainy days since. Not much happening around here.

Sent from my twisted mind of the mudman

We seem to be averaging 2"+ of rain a week since early March. I can barely mow grass let alone think about working dirt. I did manage to get potatoes planted in the garden.

Planted potatos,,,,,maybe frost on  Sat.  Saw corn planters going by Sioux City.  Had just enough rain to make yard get ahead of us.
