I don't like metric either, but have actually found myself needing it lately.

You sound like a PG rated version of me 30 years ago :lol_hitting: And my opinion of metrique really ain't improved any either :38:

I wonder if the rebuild kits for those fit the older vintage Williams rats. I've got a 1/2" rat that needs a kit.

I am pretty sure they are different. The old Williams have the lock ring holding the head together, new Williams is a single socket head cap screw through the selector holding it together (like SK Tuff-1)

No it has not, main complaint, from cars to machines. Both SAE & jimmy Carter NUTs and bolts are found in/on the same assembly .

On a positive note the metric is handy some when machining ..

Staying on topic this would be my most recent tool buy ..

Got this off the tool truck today...   We'll see if I can ruin some bits.

Drill doctor works pretty good, 1/8 up, smaller bits, not worth the trouble. Key to using it is setting the cut depth. It's the stop, the bit is pulled into, when positioning the bit in the holder.

Also found allowing the bit to free spin, not loose. As the gripper holds it, resting against the stop. The tighten the holder, is accurate and consistent for sharpening.

I just rotate the bit until it quits cutting, DD says count the turn so as you stop on at an even count.. I do better just waiting until no more material is being removed.

BTW have a spare holder laying around that will sharpen 3/4 if interested?

Just bought a unused DD, works fine.   At work, 2 guys had them and couldnt get the hang of setting the bit in the holder, always poor results.   Id borrow one,  sharpen my own,  and some of theirs. Before this would use the Sioux valve grinder with its fine stone, with good results.

I have one and have used it successfully for well over a decade. Larger drills - above 3/8” it’s easier for me to grind by hand, but anything below that size my old DD handles very well.

Lots of vids on YouTube about setting the collet and depth correctly

Good luck Tim!

Got a new light for work today  some items off the clearance table at the local hardware store yesterday.

The bench plane actually kind of sucks but for the price I'm not out too much, I already have two sets each of these Eklind hex keys but originally paid $5 I think and at $1 I just could not pass these up

I doubt this thing actually makes the 1000 lumen claims, but the beam is clear, it's definitely nice and bright, the mode operation is something I can live with,  and I have had good luck with Nebo products in the past.
I don't really like having multiple modes, but if they do the operation right it makes things more bearable.

Now I just gotta find a place to put it, then I can decide what to fill it with.
I'm thinking drill bits and such.

Sweet parts trays.

I found they're magic!   Left to them selves, parts just seem to find their way into the trays!  :great:
